Taylan Koru has been in the digital media industry for more than 10 years and continues his career as Unilever Head of Digital in Mindshare Turkey. He has managed top investor brands like Unilever, Vodafone, L’Oreal and Apple in Turkey where one of the most emerging market in terms of number of internet users and social media penetration.
Currently, he is responsible for more than 30 Unilever brands’ annual digital media planning and buying business as well as focusing in the diffusion of innovations and the impact of new technologies on marketing practice. He executed digital 2.0 strategies by setting the right channel mix according to client needs and consumer touchpoints.
Prior to his appointment, he was Digital Media Manager at OMD Turkey and worked there 6 years for clients from FMCG, Automotive, Consumer Electronics and Media sector. During his tenure, he won several local and global awards from IAB Mixx, Mediacat Felis, MMA Smarties and Horizon with Vodafone, Renault, Intel, Hasbro and Disney. Before that he was Community Manager in Turkey's first social media platform Yonja.com in 2006 based in Istanbul and San Francisco.
He received a Bachelor of Engineering Degree in Management Engineering at Istanbul Technical University and he is a member of IAB Education Committee.
